Well, I should have seen this shit coming. I was browsing Engadget today and stumbled upon an article regarding new Lenovo hardware. Now, let’s take this into mind: I just bought a ThinkPad T61 a week ago. Apparently, after a good 2 years, Lenovo has decided to finally put out new ThinkPad models.
Fuck. Me.
It’s all right, I suppose. The timing of my purchase was just pure assery. I’ll deal with it; I’ve got a new laptop for Christ’s sake.
Anyway, I’m still planning on buying a 360. Nintendo’s been pissing my Jack Skelington-esque ass off with the hoards of cutesy shit they’re putting out there nowadays. It was never really a big deal to me. Their games were for a wider audience — great. I respected that; I dug that. But after Nintendo’s E3 conference, I’m starting to shy away from them. Their big news was Animal Crossing for the Wii. Fucking Animal Crossing. I’d rather douse my eyes with peroxide than have to play through that hackneyed series(?) again. And then they go ahead and make another Wii Sports. Who wants that?! I’ve never been so pissed at Nintendo. I’ve always loved them. I’m starting to get sick of some of the junk they’re putting out there. If they’re going to play the ‘it’s not about graphics’ card, then they should be revisiting their golden days by doing what Capcom’s doing with Mega Man 9: going back to the roots of gaming. I’ve been behind Nintendo longer than I can remember, but I haven’t touched the Wii in months and the recent announcements aren’t going to change that.
In other news, Microsoft seems to be doing quite well; they put on a good show, at least. And that’s why I’m leaning more toward buying a 360. The new Dashboard looked lame at first, but it seems to possess skinning capabilities. It looks much better than it did. I’ll have to see for myself…
UPDATE (7/18/08 11:59PM): My Xbox 360 will arrive on Tuesday.
